SPIDER

This was probably my least-favorite research attempt EVER. It's hard to type and shudder at the same time.

This video isn't an African spider, but at least it's a close look at movements...

This is certainly a good, i.e., dramatic look:

Annnnd... a documentary on massive spiders. Good luck.

This webpage has a list of poisonous African spiders, with descriptions and pictures.

Uggh, I have to stop looking now. My skin will be crawling for days!

ETA: check out this spider dance. Stylized - some interesting moves here.

Leopard Moves

The leopard in action.

The leopard stalks the cheetah - lets the prey know it's coming. The cheetah knows better than to run until it absolutely has to - no use in starting the fight sooner by presenting a challenge!

This is an interesting twist on the Tarzan version - this leopard kills the mother, but protects the baby. Watch the delicate, fluid movements, the constant crouch and readiness to spring...

This one is a slightly over-dramatic narration of a leopard ambush:

A long video (bad sound) with an overview of the leopard. Complete with action sequences.

There are a few jumps and leaps here, but not much else - just a trailer. Still...

Here's a longer version:

Head Suits

Here's a collection of images of Victorian hairstyles - first, the men:

Plenty of choices to suit every face shape and hairline - sideburns are key, gentlemen.

Now, the lad(y)ies:

Remember, the era covers quite a lot of time - for Jane, I'd suggest something simpler, maybe a little girlish, maybe braids and loose hair - possibly a little poufy on top.

I couldn't find any pictures of Victorian styling for gorillas. Sorry.

It seems really very unfair that man should have chosen the gorilla to symbolize everything that is aggressive and violent, when that is one thing that the gorilla is not, and that we are.
